We have six BMS Menopause Specialists and a further three GP’s with a special interest in Menopause all working under the guidance of Dr Joanne Horgan and Dr Helen Fawcett our team leads.
All our menopause specialists offer tailored care to meet the exact needs of each patient.
Find out more about each of them on our meet the team page
New patient consultations are an hour long and during your first consultation, which can be video, telephone or in clinic, your specialist will discuss your medical history, symptoms and possible avenues of treatment.
Following this consultation, the doctor may recommend a follow-up usually 6-12 weeks from the first appointment. From there, if your symptoms are resolving you can continue to see your specialist or, some patients do manage to have their hormone replacement therapy continued by their GP. Treatment, of course, varies from patient to patient.
Blood tests
We generally recommend any baseline blood tests prior to your consultation, as this allows your doctor to review the results with you during your appointment. If you have relevant blood test results from the past 3–6 months, we ask that you bring them to your consultation or email them to us to add to your records.
If you would like to book a blood test prior to your consultation please contact us.
Tests vary by patient please see here
Alternatively, blood testing can be performed at your appointment with the doctor or your NHS GP may be willing to do these for you. If your results are sent in to the clinic outside of a consultation, a short telephone consultation is required to discuss the results and update your records.
Important Note: Please do not apply any hormone creams, gels or sprays on the day of your consultation or blood test appointment. Patches and tablets are fine to continue.
For in clinic appointments a deposit on booking will be required. For telephone / video appointments full payment is required on booking.
