We recently ran an Instagram poll asking, “have you ever tried a treatment specifically for your neck?” A whopping 78% of you said no – but you were curious to know more.

Thinking about it, the results make total sense. Most of us focus on our face when it comes to skincare and aesthetic treatments, while the neck quietly goes unnoticed – until one day, it doesn’t!

If you’ve started noticing lines, creases, loss of firmness or sagging around your neck, this blog is for you. I look at why the neck can show signs of ageing, which treatments can help, and what you can do to support the health and appearance of this often-overlooked area.

And if you’re in your 20s or 30s, there’s plenty you can do now to help maintain the skin’s appearance and support healthy ageing. But it’s important to remember that it’s never too late to give your neck some attention – if you’re 30 or over and noticing changes, there are still treatment options and support available to help you find the right approach for your skin.

If you’d like to find out more about your skin and the options available to you, you can book a complimentary skincare consultation with our team.

How to get rid of neck wrinkles without surgery

The neck is often one of the first areas to show signs of ageing. The skin on the neck is thinner and has fewer oil glands than the skin on the face, while constant movement, sun exposure and the natural ageing process can all contribute to fine lines, crepey texture and a gradual loss of firmness. Eek!

You may have heard the terms ‘tech neck’ or ‘text neck’. With so many of us spending hours looking down at our phones, tablets and laptops, our daily habits can contribute to the appearance of horizontal lines and creases across the neck. Poor posture can also place unnecessary strain on the muscles and joints, potentially contributing to ongoing neck and back discomfort.

While our screen habits and posture are certainly worth being mindful of, they aren’t the only factors at play. Repeated movement and the gradual loss of collagen and elastin as we age can also affect the skin’s structure, eventually contributing to deeper lines, sagging and a less firm appearance.

But don’t despair! Surgery isn’t the only option. There are a number of non-surgical and minimally invasive treatments that can help improve the appearance of lines, texture and loss of firmness, leaving the neck looking smoother, tighter and more refreshed.

Here, I’ll take you through some of the most popular treatment options available today, how they work, and who they may be most suitable for.

Microneedling

Microneedling uses super-fine needles to create tiny channels in the skin, which triggers your body to produce more collagen and elastin (the stuff that keeps skin firm and bouncy). Over time, it can help improve texture, reduce fine lines, and thicken the skin in areas that might be starting to feel thin or crepey.

It’s great for the neck because it’s gentle but effective, and results keep improving for months after each session.

Endymed Radiofrequency & Endymed Intensif

These treatments use radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deeper layers of your skin, which tightens existing collagen and stimulates new production over time. Intensif combines microneedling with RF, giving you the best of both worlds.

People love these treatments for firming up mild to moderate skin laxity (that soft, loose look) and redefining the jawline and neck area. It’s especially good if you are noticing sagging or loss of definition under the chin (jowls).

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) uses gentle pulses of light to target areas of pigmentation, redness and sun damage, helping to improve the overall tone and clarity of the skin. It can also stimulate collagen production, which can help support firmer, smoother-looking skin over time.

It can be particularly beneficial for the neck, where years of sun exposure can leave the skin looking uneven, pigmented or more aged. IPL can help restore a brighter, more even appearance while supporting the skin’s natural collagen response.

Profhilo

This is one of the most popular neck treatments and for good reason. Profhilo is a super-hydrating injectable made from pure hyaluronic acid (don’t worry, Profhilo is not a filler and will not add volume). It spreads through the skin and gives an all-over hydration boost, while also stimulating collagen and elastin production.

For the neck, it helps with crepey texture, fine lines, and that dull, dehydrated look. Most people notice a visible improvement in firmness and glow after two sessions.

Skin Boosters

Think of these as micro-injections of skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid or vitamins. They don’t plump like fillers but work to deeply hydrate and nourish your skin from within.

Skin boosters (such as Jalupro) are perfect for dull, dry neck skin and work best when done as a course – usually up to three sessions. They can also help smooth out early fine lines and make your neck feel softer, bouncier, and more supple.

What about lumps, bumps and skin tags?

As we get older, it’s not uncommon to develop benign growths on the neck, such as seborrhoeic keratoses and skin tags. Seborrhoeic keratoses can be associated with natural ageing and sun exposure, while skin tags can sometimes develop in areas where there is repeated friction, such as from clothing, jewellery or even seat belts.

If these growths have been assessed as benign, we can remove them using electrosurgery. However, it’s important not to assume that every new lump, bump or change on the skin is harmless. If you notice a new or changing growth, or anything that concerns you, it’s always best to have it checked by a GP before considering cosmetic removal.

What is the best neck treatment for you?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer, as it really depends on your goals.

As a general guide, if you’re looking for firmer, tighter skin, radiofrequency microneedling or Endymed Intensif are great options. To smooth fine lines and deeply hydrate the skin, Profhilo or skin boosters can work well, while microneedling is a great starting point if your aim is to stimulate collagen and improve overall texture. If sun damage, pigmentation, redness or uneven skin tone are your main concerns, IPL can help to refresh and brighten the appearance of the neck while also supporting collagen production

Often, the best results come from combining treatments. We can create a personalised plan based on your skin’s needs. Consultations are free, so you can explore your options with no pressure.

How to prevent damage to the neck?

This is a great question! When it comes to your neck, prevention is certainly better than cure, but it’s never too late to start giving this often-overlooked area some extra care. Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, 40s or beyond, there are simple steps you can take to protect the skin, support healthy ageing and help maintain its appearance.

Here are some smart (and simple) neck-care tips:

Use sun protection factor (SPF) daily

Your neck is just as exposed to the sun as your face. Apply SPF every morning, and don’t forget to reapply if you are spending a lot of time outdoors.

Be mindful of your posture

Try not to look down at your phone all day. Keeping your screen at eye level and taking regular breaks can help prevent tech-neck lines.

Extend your skincare

Whatever you are doing for your face, make sure you include your neck too. That means your cleanser, serums, moisturiser, and even retinol. Your neck deserves the same level of care and attention.

Hydrate inside and out

Drink plenty of water, and use hydrating serums or creams with ingredients like hyaluronic acid or ceramides.

Massage gently

Gently massaging your neck in upward strokes from the collarbone to the jawline each day can help boost circulation and support skin firmness over time.

The neck does not have to be the first place to reveal your age, especially with so many effective and non-invasive treatments now available. Whether you are ready to explore options like microneedling, try Profhilo, or simply commit to better skincare and posture, there is a solution to suit every stage of the journey.

So if you are ‘neck-curious’ (and clearly, a lot of you were), now you know that there are safe, subtle, and seriously effective options out there.

After all, your neck deserves some love too.
