In our line of business, we see countless reasons for weight gain, and just as many variations in how and when a patient’s weight changes. The impacts on quality of life are equally varied – from barely noticeable to physically and mentally debilitating.

Increasingly, we see patients who feel trapped by their weight. They are sad, sometimes depressed, and overwhelmed, believing that losing weight is impossible. And weight gain no longer has a single pattern – it doesn’t just happen in middle age.

I believe our modern food supply, combined with the challenging social environments we all navigate, has made healthy eating more difficult than ever. In my experience, people who are stressed, anxious, or worried are at greater risk of weight gain and obesity. Everywhere we turn, ultra-processed foods are marketed as healthy options – many of which can be addictive. It’s no wonder controlling what and how much we eat feels impossible.

Medicated weight loss has become a valuable tool for many. It helps patients halt weight gain, improve eating habits, and lose weight safely over time. But too often this support is only effective and lasts only while the medication is being taken. Without new habits, weight regain often follows. That’s why long-term changes in portion sizes, food choices, and overall eating patterns are essential for maintaining a healthy weight without relying on medication indefinitely.

Alongside our medicated weight loss service, we strongly encourage patients to embrace a new perspective on food and lifestyle. This education and guidance prepare them for sustainable weight management. Drug-free. For life.

Our medicated weight loss programme begins with safe, monitored medicated weight loss. We take this seriously: there are well-documented risks when medication isn’t carefully supervised. Throughout treatment, our nurse monitors weight changes, progress, and any potential side effects to ensure the process remains safe and effective.

From there, patients begin a journey of lifestyle change, supported by our team, which includes:

  • GP & Nurse
  • Dietitian
  • Nutritionist
  • Counsellor
  • Personal trainer

Together, they provide guidance on healthy eating, emotional wellbeing, physical activity, and building lasting lifestyle habits.

Our support doesn’t stop at appointments. Patients receive:

  • Daily tips via our dedicated WhatsApp group
  • Workshops for food education
  • Three group sessions with a personal trainer
  • Careful monitoring of weight, body composition, and muscle mass

While on medicated weight loss, you may not always feel your best. You will likely feel euphoric about the weight loss; however, some patients may experience side effects. Hair, nails, and energy levels can be affected because nutrients are not always absorbed as efficiently. We monitor hydration and nutrition closely to minimise disruption.

Our ultimate goal is to help patients maintain their weight loss without ongoing medication. This is why we are so keen to keep the weight loss maintained without the need for further medication intervention. Bad news for the pharmaceuticals but great news for you 🙂

Once you reach your target weight and fully embrace your new approach, you can expect to feel healthy, energised, clear-minded, content, and strong  in both body and mind – all without further medication

We work alongside our patients to support healthy, happy ageing and long-term wellbeing.
