What is The Female Health Clinic Skin Bar?

We believe skincare is a place to invest, and know that it only takes a little time, patience, and investment to find a skincare routine that works for you.

Simply put, our Skin Bar service focuses on the health of your skin and the products you use.

The aim is to help you get the basics such as cleanser, moisturiser, and sun protection factor sorted and then introduce products for if there are any specific skin concerns.

What happens during the Skin Bar consultation?

Before your appointment, you complete a questionnaire telling us about the condition of your skin, medical factors that may affect your choice of skincare, and the products you currently use.

Based on the feedback, we prepare a selection of products for you to try during your Skin Bar experience. You get to feel, smell, and test the products on yourself and give yourself a mini facial treatment that will leave your skin glowing.

If you are happy to do so, we ask that you bring your existing skincare products along to your appointment.

Why do we need to review and update our skincare products?

As we age, our skin naturally undergoes various changes, such as decreased elasticity, reduced collagen production, and increased dryness. Adjusting the skincare products to address these changes helps keep the skin looking and feeling healthy.

Different age groups have varying skin concerns. For instance, teenagers may struggle with excess oil production and acne, while older individuals may experience dryness, age spots, or uneven skin tone. By using products formulated for your specific age group, you can effectively address these skincare concerns.

What is the benefit of clinical skincare products?

Clinical skincare products are typically designed and developed with the help of dermatologists or skincare professionals. They undergo rigorous testing, contain higher concentrations of active ingredients, and are backed by scientific research.

All this makes them more effective in addressing specific skin concerns when compared to high-street skincare products, which may not have the same level of expertise or scientific backing.

Clinical products often contain higher levels of advanced ingredients like retinoids, peptides, antioxidants, and growth factors – all proven to have a positive impact on the skin.

While high-street products can be suitable for basic skincare needs, clinical products offer a higher level of expertise and formulation and actively change the appearance, health, and condition of our skin.

How much does the Skin Bar experience cost?

The fee for the 30-minute appointment is £49, of which 50% is redeemable against any products or treatments purchased on the day.
