Profhilo is an injectable treatment that contains a high concentration of the hydrating molecule hyaluronic acid (HA). As well as plumping and filling, the slow release of HA stimulates the skins natural production of collagen.
Over time this helps to improve skin tone, soften the appearance of lines, and boost hydration – giving the skin a healthy and natural-looking glow.
What does the Profhilo treatment feel like?
How it feels will always depend on every individual. It is unlikely this procedure would be described as pleasant(!), but it isn’t painful – more of a stinging, pinching sensation.
You will notice raised marks where the injections have been (think mini mosquito bites) but these tend to disappear within a day or so after treatment.
Who is Profhilo good for?
In general, the treatment is suitable for anybody from the age of 30 years up.
As well as treating the signs of ageing, it is a great preventative treatment for those who wish to keep their skin in good condition as it strengthens the skins collagen and elastin.
What areas can be treated with Profhilo?
The main areas treated tend to be the face and neck – however, Profhilo is also used to hydrate and rejuvenate the backs of the hands – this works very well as a combination treatment alongside Intense Pulse Light (IPL) which removes age spots and blemishes.
Other areas of the body that are suitable for treatment include the decolletage, upper arms, stomach, and knees.
How much are Profhilo injections?
At The Female Health Clinic, the price per treatment session is £325. We insist that our patients have a consultation before any treatment, and this is provided free of charge.
Most patients will need two Profhilo skin treatment sessions to get the best results. These sessions are usually spaced four weeks apart.
More mature skin may require an additional session or two, and this is discussed during the initial consultation.
How long does Profhilo last?
Optimum results are usually seen within eight weeks, and we would recommend repeating the treatment every 6 months to maintain results.
